Boulder County offers Saturday health insurance enrollment event
Boulder County will host a Saturday walk-in health insurance coverage enrollment opportunity for people seeking health insurance before the Jan. 31 deadline for coverage under Connect for Health Colorado, the state’s health insurance marketplace.
People with questions about the state’s health insurance marketplace can also call 303-441-1000 and they will be directed to a health coverage guide.
Boulder County estimates several thousand county residents are without health insurance, with a majority of these uninsured being Latino residents and young adults.
Boulder County health coverage guides will be available to provide education about insurance options, to assist with online applications and to link people with other human services support systems.

City sponsors health insurance enrollment event
The city of Bloomington sponsored a free health event to help people sign up for “Obamacare” or other state-sponsored plans, depending on their needs, and to answer questions about the health care marketplace.
Katie Rodriguez and Hannah Watt are outreach and enrollment specialists for SCCAP and worked a table together at the event.
Talking about the possibility of an “Obamacare” repeal, Rodriguez said SCCAP has been around since 1999 to offer guidance on health insurance.
“If there’s a specific event in your life, like if you turn 26 and get kicked off your parents’ insurance, we can help you sign up,” Watt said.
However, she also said people should still sign up and take advantage of health insurance currently available.
