He is the second finalist from McNair in the last three years with Eswar Anandapadmanaban having been named a 2015 finalist.

As it stated in JERSEY CITY — A McNair Academic High School student is one of 40 finalists heading for Washington D.C. to compete in the Regeneron Science Talent Search in March.
Weaver knew two years ago he wanted to submit to the competition, when McNair student Eswar Anandapadmanaban was named a 2015 finalist.
Nearly 2,000 students across the country submitted work to the Regeneron Science Talent Search, first narrowing down to 300 semifinalists before the top 40 contestants were announced.
But like most seniors in high school, Weaver was absorbed in filling out college applications and the deadline for the competition almost slipped by him.
McNair received a $2,000 award for producing a Science Talent Scholar.
