The star of shows including My House, My Castle was diagnosed with kidney cancer a year ago, but the disease has now spread to his lungs and spine.
The 50-year-old went to the doctors when he found blood in his urine.
Cocks, who has three daughters from his first marriage, Georgia, 22, Ella, 19 and Sophie,18, says he is now trying to live life to the fullest – which includes marrying his partner of two years, Dana Coote.
He has since had one of his kidneys removed, NZME reported.
