More than 20 prosecuted in Winnfield-based drug rings. WINNFIELD — native & federal authorities have indicted 21 people after a lengthy investigation into drug trafficking in Winn Parish.
Eleven of the defendants were indicted on federal charges, & ten face state charges.
Multiple agencies participated, including the Sheriff’s Department, Louisiana State Police, the FBI, the DEA, the U.S.

Jordan said “we realized we had a great drug crisis here,” however the parish lacked the resources to tackle it alone.

A south Georgia grand jury indicted Worth province Sheriff Jeff Hobby on Tuesday for sexual battery, false imprisonment & violation of oath of office after he ordered a school-wide search of hundreds of high school students.
Deputies allegedly touched girls vaginas & breasts & groped boys in their groin ambit during the search at the Worth province High School April 14.
He was too indicted on 1 count of sexual battery, a misdemeanor.

 Authorities: 17 indicted in multistate drug ring

Authorities tell 17 people were indicted Tuesday in connection by a massive, multistate drug ring.
Kevin Larking, of the Drug Enforcement Administration, tells drug couriers routinely took commercial flights further than 2,000 miles, from an airport in Phoenix to John F. Kennedy International Airport in Queens.
“Two to 3 times per month, they traveled via commercial air, by cocaine smuggled inside suitcases, & returned to Arizona by narcotic proceeds,” Larking says.
Nassau province territory Attorney Madeline Singas tells the traffickers made among $50,000 & $75,000 a week.
Despite the vehicles, neighbors tell they didn’t stick out & seemed quiet.
