This Fresh strategy going to address all aspects of Cancer disease, by a focus on delivering culturally secure Cancer disease care in 6 priority areas |emerging partnerships between the health system & Indigenous societies;working by Indigenous societies to help protect Cancer disease before it starts;increasing access & involvement in colon, cervical & breast Cancer disease screening;promoting cultural security & humility in Cancer disease care services;supporting Indigenous Cancer disease survivor ship & finish-of-life experiences; and improving knowledge of Indigenous Cancer disease experiencesIn designing the strategy in copartner ship by BC Cancer disease, premier Nations Health Authority (FNHA), Métis Nation English Columbia (MNBC) & the BC Association of Aboriginal Friendship Centres (BCAAFC), the county of B.C.
“This strategy is between the newest of its kind, & a crucial step in addressing Cancer disease survival disparities between Indigenous people in English Columbia,” said Health Minister Adrian Dix.
“We are committed to moving forward quickly on implementing key points of this strategy,” said Dr. Malcom Moore, President of BC Cancer disease.
